The Grand Duchess and I dressed, stayed up late chatting by the hearth with quiet jazz and a crackling fire in the background while enjoying several classic gin-based cocktails with some sparkling wine at midnight. Happy 2022 everyone. Let's hope it is a bit better than the last couple of years have been.

I'm jealous of your weight loss, and you look fantastic. But it's time to stop; the line between healthy-thin and AIDS-thin is sometimes a bit blurred, no?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Heinz-Ulrich. I love your dinner jacket in the tan shade that is called "Burma" according to the captions in 1930s Esquire magazines. My wife and I also go with a black-tie dinner for two at home on New Year's Eve; Black Watch plaid dinner jacket for me this year, and black dress with rhinestone trim for her. Much nicer than the forced frivolity of going out, and no drunk drivers to contend with on the ride home.
ReplyDeleteThank you men! Duly noted, and just working to maintain the weight after too much Christmas indulgence.
ReplyDeleteKind Regards,
