Not a green OCBD shirt this morning, but a green and white university stripe OCBD instead. Ivy, or not? I'm unsure. But in my mind, I am somewhere out on the ski trails of Northern Michigan in rather different attire all together, so it hardly matters. Same thing with pleated pants, which I prefer.
Oh, I know, I know. But you reach a point of comfort with your dress where such talking points no longer matter much. Don't know about you, but I have at least.
Too dogmatic an approach toward our daily attire risks turning what ought to be a joy into abject drudgery. And don't we already have enough of that in the world at the moment?

Great combination, Heinz-Ulrich. I have a similar shirt and tie, but have not thought to wear them together. I have a camelhair 3/2 sack sport coat that would go quite well with it.
ReplyDeleteAs for whether a green shirt can be Ivy, I say, absolutely, and note that Brooks Brothers offered them decades ago when it was still a thoroughly Ivy company. However, I also agree that it does not matter much as long as it looks good, as this ensemble does.
Thank you, Charlottesville! That is very kind of you. We try.
