Another DB Monday. . .

Continuing the status quo here at Classic Style. Just another obnoxiously overdressed Monday in other words.

Besides the items pictured, attire for the day includes a dark charcoal single-breasted wool overcoat with a herringbone pattern plus my old gray plaid wool scarf. Still cold in the mornings before sunrise when I leave home, but temperatures are predicted to reach the low 60s Faherenheit by afternoon. Spring has sprung it seems.

Of course, yours truly is still reading books and watching Youtube videos on classic cross-country skiing technique plus working on balance exercises!

If I had my druthers, of course I'd still be on the trails skiing, but sadly our season seems over here in Mid-Michigan with no snow left anywhere save for a few small dirty piles here and there. Amazing how quickly it melts once the weather changes.

Those lucky so-and-so's who live in Western Colorado and the mountains in Washington State enjoy skiing seasons that lasts into May I hear. Imagine six months with skiable snow on the ground. I swoon at the thought.

The Problem of "Business Casual" Attire. . .

This is how it's done. Business Casual the RIGHT way, ladies and gentlemen. Even during the summer months. The above photograph has been "borrowed" from the J. Press website. "I f you see something you want," advised my late mother, "buy it. It won't be there when you go back later." A favorite (and wise) adage hers that I still follow whenever possible. So when this item appeared on clearance at J. Press, I mulled it over for a couple of days, and then clicked the requisite boxes to make the online purchase. Should be here within the week. Once upon a time, I had a similar jacket by Corbin that I foolishly purged before we left Central Illinois ('Illi-noir' anyone?) for Michigan almost 10 years ago. Not sure what I was thinking at the time since I did like the item and wore it routinely. This one will be a bit nicer and help me make sartorial amends. At least to myself. -- Heinz-Ulrich
