Friday Meetings Style. . .

Yep. That's MEETINGS with an 'S.' Around these parts, Fridays are a big day for department, collage, and university-level meetings.

Sigh.

Not the most riveting way, admittedly, to wind down the week and sail into the weekend. So why not glam it up a bit to get through what can be, if we're brutally honest, a trail under the best of circumstances?

Bright sunshine here today in Mid-Michigan but very comfortable, even seasonable cool temperatures. The belt matched the tan monkstrap loafers while the socks were navy cotton featuring a subtle pattern. Happy Friday indeed.

The trip home early this afternoon was a bit more interesting in that I stopped by my tailor of longstanding to get measured for a few of the usual alterations to a new suit. A double-breasted number in Prince-of-Wales plaid. Should be ready in about a week. Yes!

Mid-November Monday. . .

A few minutes between classes this morning, so I snapped pictures of today's attire and accessories. The first wearing this season of the Optimo 'Dearborn' fedora, and the tie is a vintage number from Orvis, a nod to my late father's fly-fishing and fly-tying hobbies. It's been two or three years since this particular necktie's last appearance, so high time to pull it out and knot it carefully around the ol' neck. Managed to nail it on the first attempt too. My Preferred Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirts. . .

One of several light blue cotton oxford cloth button-down collar shirts in my rotation, worn here with a wool flannel navy blazer and a vintage Italian silk necktie once sold under the Rooster label. An orange-brown with silvery paisleys, ideal for the autumn.
