A few final illustrations by Louis Hurd this morning without repeating anything from yesterday although I'll need to double-check at some point later today. As I explained to one visitor to Classic Style via email, I've been collecting vintage menswear illustrations as and when I find them online for seven or eight years now, saving said images into various computer desktop folders.
The virtual collection must now number a few hundred by my best guess. The problem, at this point, is that my collecting has been pretty unorganized, so I've got stuff saved everywhere, including a couple of recovery CDs that have material from old computers long gone at this point.
Fortunately, we're dealing with digital files rather than physical items, so there isn't anything taking up physical space anywhere in the house. I'm showing my age here, but just imagine if I were still collecting beer cans like so many others also did for a while in the late 1970s. I suspect The Grand Duchess might have had a few words to say about that particular hobby and its clutter had the collection not been broken up 35+ years ago when brightly painted military miniatures from the Napoleonic era began tickling my fancy.
