Not my vintage seersucker suit, unfortunately, but a recently acquired pair of shorts. Complete with rumpled, slightly furry and dandruffy short-sleeved polo shirt thanks to an hour long visit from our aging neutered tomcat Onyx, who, I am quite convinced, would spend all of his time in my lap if permitted. Or held while he rests his head and one paw on my left shoulder and purrs.

Glad that you acknowledged the holiday! I went with the full suit (tan and white from J. Press). It is already in the upper 90s in my part of Virginia, so seersucker is almost a necessity, at least for those of us who wear suits. Tonight for dinner out, it will be the more standard blue and white sport coat.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has been sweltering in D.C. too. I'll get the chance to wear my seersucker suit a few times once we crank back into gear for the fall semester come mid-August and even into early September if the temperatures suggest cooler suits. Uber-gauche I know, bu there we are.
