A decided early morning chill when I left for campus at 7am and stopped along the way for a mug of fresh dark roast where I snapped these photographs about 7:20. The newly altered, dry-cleaned, and pressed J. Press double-breasted suit that I mentioned a few weeks back. Finally got the anchor and corresponding outer fastening button placement on the 6/2 coat sorted out with my tailor.
I completed the ensemble with the seasonal Brooks Bros. 'Makers' necktie, which hasn't seen the light of day in three or four years. And fear knot! I later fixed the sloppy Half-Windsor -- given the spread collar shirt -- in a handy men's room mirror before class.
Several passersby remarked favorably on my overall appearance during the day, in particular the navy Borsalino fedora, which, as you might imagine, is an item people just don't see here in Michigan. But as I maintain, I dress for myself and compliments are never the point.
Still, it's to nice to hear the odd kind word or two about one's sartorial habits.

All opinions are welcome here. Even those that differ from mine. But let's keep it clean and civil, please.
