When in Doubt. . .

 

If ever, or whenever in doubt, select a navy blazer and gray flannel pants.  Virtually everything else will snap easily into place around these two sartorial Lego blocks.  No mental energy necessary.  A distinct and timeless combination with which it is hard to go wrong.

On a related note, a colleague, with whom I am developing a couple of related projects, and I agreed in conversation last week that we will retire only if and when drooling senility forces the issue.  Otherwise, I plan to continue dressing thusly for normal university-related activities until I keel over.  Seriously.
