Love the artwork in these old ads that appeared in The Saturday Evening Post! Hats from the late 1920-early 1930s sold by the long defunct Crofut-Knapp & Company. These men could all be looking anxiously over their shoulders in Weimar-era Berlin, Post-WWII Vienna, or the mean streets of Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City as portrayed in so many films noir between the mid-1940s and early 1950s.

No 1 for the win, followed by No 7. Most of the rest have crowns that are too tall for my taste. I did know that crowns had hot shorter over time, but hadn't seen it so obviously before. Thanks for sharing.
